Common mistakes to avoid

  • Running TOWS before prioritizing SWOT

    If you cross every minor point, the matrix becomes noisy. Start with the few strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that would actually change a decision.

  • Writing observations instead of strategies

    'Competitors are discounting' is a threat, not an ST strategy. A strategy should include a move, such as bundling support or improving retention.
