Tips for a clear assembly line diagram

  • Keep the sequence strictly left to right so the arrows never cross.
  • Write each station's output to match the next station's input exactly.
  • Color-code each station so the handoff reads at a glance even on a small screen.
  • Add a dashed rework arrow only when a step genuinely feeds back, like a failed test.
  • Start from the product's real bill of materials rather than a generic parts list.
